Cost Effective, Vegetable Based O/W Emulsifier
TEGO® Care LTP
Degussa’s business line Goldschmidt Personal Care introduces a new liquid, versatile emulsifier for cost effective processing of O/W emulsions. It can be used for the processing of facial care, body care, sunscreens and after sun care as well as baby care products. It is suitable for the formulation of creams, lotions and sprays.
TEGO® Care LTP is a very mild, PEG- and preservative-free O/W emulsifier blend based on vegetable raw materials (INCI: Sorbitan Laurate, Polyglyceryl-4 Laurate, Dilauryl Citrate), and therefore it is biodegradable. It is easy-to-use and especially interesting for cold processing of lotions and sprays. In addition, this emulsifier is able to stabilize O/W lotions in a cold process without a real homogenization step. It is also can be used for hot processing of creams.
The recommended usage concentration of TEGO® Care LTP is 1.5 – 2.0 percent and it is not necessary to formulate with co-emulsifiers. It forms stable emulsions with all commonly used oils for skin care products, e.g. mineral oils, vegetable oils as well as synthetic esters.
