Technology Innovation Award for the business unit Consumer Specialties

Evonik showcased powerful Innovations for beauty & wellness at PCHi 2011

From February 22 to 24, Evonik presented its portfolio of Personal Care products and silica products at this year’s PCHi in Shenzhen, China, with focus on innovative products and technologies for skin and hair care, as well as cosmetic applications.

One highlight of the tradeshow was the awarding of the PCHi Technology Innovation Award for innovative ingredients and formulations.

“Among 17 award-winning products, formulations, and technologies, Evonik is the only company who acquires more than one award, and both got unanimous preferences from the judges,” said Mr. Jerry Wang, Senior Manager Personal Care and Household Care, Consumer Specialties Greater China.

The two award-winning Evonik innovations are TEGO® Pep 4-17, a novel tetrapeptide which boosts the ECM and minimizes the appearance of all kinds if wrinkles and a 3-Layer Toner & Make-up removal formulation. Both have been introduced in the showcase of PCHi Technology Innovation Area. “We are pleased about the very positive feedback from our Chinese customers, demonstrating that our innovations meet the needs of the market” said Dr. Mike Farwick, Head of R&D Active Ingredients, Consumer Specialties.

In addition to the presentation of the product portfolio, Evonik arranged three info sessions at the PCHi Technical Innovation Conference about novel methods and ingredients for cosmetic formulators. The topics include “A new method to prepare low viscosity but stable W/O systems”, “Innovative Ceramide and Peptide Technologies for an Even and Healthy Skin”, and “A new, versatile and cost-efficient O/W emulsifier for natural cosmetics and beyond”.
