TEGO® Cistus: Daylight defense to protect your DNA

To protect your skin against environmental stress Evonik launches TEGO® Cistus which will be presented at the IFSCC Congress 2012. This latest active is a standardized plant extract highly enriched in polyphenols from pink rock rose.
Cistus incanus spp. tauricus growths in Europe and parts of the Middle East and has a historical use in traditional European medicine.
Various in vitro studies have shown that TEGO® Cistus delivers strong anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory effects, reduces reactive oxygen species (ROS) in skin cells and helps to protect the skin against external aggressions, such as UV light and pollution.
Extended in vivo studies have confirmed that TEGO® Cistus significantly protects the skin from UV induced inflammation and against oxidative stress.
Overall TEGO® Cistus is a natural based active ingredient with proven efficacy with highly scientific claim substantiation for sophisticated anti-ageing products.
